In 2019, 249 people in New Mexico died in crashes that didn't involve alcohol. That's 59% of all traffic fatalities. The goal of the New Mexico Department of Transportation's SLODWN/BKLUP campaign is to bring awareness to the dangers of speeding and the importance of seat belt use. We engage the community through awareness campaigns, education and resources to help change unsafe driving behavior.
